Korean researchers find eco-friendly method for creating nitrogen-doped graphene nanoplatelets

Researchers at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (Unist; Ulsan, South Korea) have found a simple, low-cost, and eco-friendly method of creating nitrogen-doped graphene nanoplatelets (NGnP), the institute announced. The NGnPs could be used in dye-sensitized solar cells and fuel cells, potentially replacing conventional platinum (Pt)-based catalysts for energy conversion, Unist says.
