Honam and Mitsubishi Rayon to Expand MMA Monomer and Acrylic Resin Pellet Capacity in Korea

Mitsubishi Rayon and Honam Petrochemical (Seoul) say that their Daesan MMA (Daesan, Korea) 50-50 joint venture has decided to expand the production capacity for methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer and acrylic resin pellets in Korea. The production capacity for MMA monomer will be increased by 98,000 m.t./year at the plant at Yeosu, Korea. Following the completion of the expansion in January 2013, the total MMA monomer production capacity at the site will increase to 188,000 m.t./year. The acrylic resin pellet production capacity will be expanded by 60,000 m.t./year...
