Regions :: North Asia :: Korea APIC: No Relief in Sight for Butadiene9:13 AM MDT | May 13, 2010 | Lyn Tattum in Mumbai The dramatic increase in butadiene (BD) prices reflects supply shortages in the U.S. and Western Europe and a shift to lighter feedstocks, according to Ed Gartner, Director of the World Petrochemicals Program at SRI Consulting (Houston). Speaking at the APIC 2010 conference in Mumbai, Gartner said BD to ethylene ratios in the US have risen from 1.1 to 1.44 and back to 1.3 currently and are highly volatile, impacting prices in all other regions.
