Versalis and Lotte Chemical form elastomers JV in Korea

Versalis (Milan) and Lotte Chemical (Seoul) announced today that they have established a 50-50 joint venture, Lotte Versalis Elastomers. The news follows an agreement signed last year between Versalis and Honam Petrochemical Corp., Lotte Chemical’s predecessor, to join forces in an elastomers manufacturing venture. The jv will be headquartered at Yeosu and will produce elastomers for the tire and automotive industries, among others.   The complex will be designed to produce 200,000 m.t./year of elastomers based on butadiene and ethylene and propylene...
