SK Global Chemical reports fall in operating profits

SK Global Chemical, the petrochemical business of SK Innovation (Seoul), formerly SK Energy, recorded a 11.5% fall in operating profits for the third quarter of 2013 compared with the year-ago quarter, to 218.6 billion South Korean won ($206 million). Third-quarter sales increased 8%, however, to won3.32 trillion. SK Global Chemical’s overall petrochemical product sales volumes increased to 2.11 million m.t. in the third quarter of 2013 from 2.07 million m.t. in the year-ago quarter.
