Regions :: North Asia :: Korea SK Global Chemical Reports Rise in Operating Profits7:27 AM MDT | July 27, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh SK Global Chemical, the petrochemical business of SK Innovation (Seoul), formerly SK Energy, recorded a 23.5% rise in operating profits for the second quarter, ended June 30, 2012, compared with the year-ago period, to won164.2 billion ($144 million). Second-quarter sales decreased, however, by 23.5%, to won3.19 trillion. The company’s overall petrochemical product sales volumes decreased to 1.98 million m.t. in the second quarter of 2012, from 2.72 million m.t. in the year-ago quarter.
