Regions :: North Asia :: Korea Korea Engineering Plastics to Increase Polyacetal Capacity12:14 AM MDT | March 29, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Mitsubishi Gas Chemical (MGC) says that its Korea Engineering Plastics (KEP; Seoul) affiliate will expand its polyacetal production facility at Ulsan, Korea, to increase its production capacity by 35,000 m.t./year. KEP was established in 1987 and Celanese holds 50% stake in KEP, MGC holds 40%, and Mitsubishi Corp. holds the remaining 10%. KEP began production of polyacetal in 1988 using MGC technology. With the additional 35,000-m.t./year capacity using MGC technology, KEP’s total polyacetal production capacity will increase to 140,000 m.t./year. The...
