ASIA/PACIFIC: $1,250-$1,300/m.t. c&f, spot Outlook Worldwide methyl ether ketone (MEK) capacity is about 1.4 million m.t./year, more than half of which is in Japan, Western Europe, and the U.S., says Elvira Greiner, consultant at SRI Consulting (SRIC; Menlo Park, CA). Worldwide MEK demand is forecast to grow at 3.5% over next five years, to 1.3 million m.t. by 2010, SRIC says. Demand growth will be driven by China, the largest single consumer.
