Ube to Start Commercial Production of Artificial Micro Carbon

Ube Industries says it will launch commercial production of its proprietary artificial micro carbon (AMC) in October 2011. The company is currently constructing a production line for AMC within the company’s Ube Chemical Factory at Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. Ube is targeting sales of ¥5 billion–¥10 billion ($62.5 million-$125 million) from the AMC business by fiscal 2015.
