Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Ube reports fall in profits, sales7:32 AM MST | February 12, 2013 | Deepti Ramesh Ube Industries reported a 35.5% fall in net profits for its fiscal first 9 months, ended 31 December 2012, compared with the year-ago period, to ¥12.5 billion ($133 million). Nine-month sales decreased 1.4%, to ¥464.4 billion. Ube’s chemicals and plastics segment recorded a 6.4% fall in 9-month sales compared with the year-ago period, to ¥162.9 billion, and operating profits for the segment decreased 78%, to ¥4.3 billion.
