Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Ube reports fall in profits, sales8:04 AM MDT | November 2, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Ube Industries reported a 30.6% fall in net profits for its fiscal first half, ended 30 September 2012, compared with the year-ago period, to ¥8.4 billion ($105 million). Sales decreased 0.3%, to ¥310.7 billion. Ube’s chemicals and plastics segment recorded a 5% fall in first-half sales compared with the year-ago period, to ¥109.3 billion, and operating profits for the segment decreased 72%, to ¥3.8 billion.
