Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Ube and Samsung Form JV for Polyimide for Substrates to Be Used in Displays4:43 AM MDT | June 1, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Ube Industries says it has signed an agreement with Samsung Mobile Display (SMD; Cheonan, Korea) to establish a 50-50 joint venture in Korea to manufacture polyimide for substrates to be used in the next-generation displays which SMD plans to start mass producing. The jv company, which will be located at Asan, Korea, will be established in August 2011. The name of the company is yet to be decided.
