Tosoh to Raise Ethyleneamines Capacity at Japanese Site

Tosoh says it will invest about $200 million to increase ethyleneamines capacity at the company’s Nanyo, Japan complex by 36,000 m.t./year. The expansion will raise Tosoh’s overall ethyleneamines capacity to 89,000 m.t./year and make it one of the world’s top ethyleneamine manufacturers, the company says. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2012. Annual growth in demand for ethyleneamines is projected at 2%-3% worldwide and more than 5% in Asia.
