Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Toray to Increase Optical-Use Polyester Film Production Capacity in China12:14 AM MST | January 28, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Toray Industries says it will increase the production capacity of optical-use polyester films in China. Toray plans to invest about ¥5.5 billion ($67 million) in Yihua Toray Polyester Film (YTP; Yizheng, China), in which Toray has a 50% stake, to add a production facility for optical-use thick films, with a production capacity of 15,000 m.t./year. The facility is expected to start production in September 2012. Toray plans to start producing 6,600 m.t./year optical-use thick films used in flat panel display (FPD) diffusers, prism sheets and micro lens at YTP...
