Toray and Gevo Sign Offtake Agreement for Bio Para-xylene

Toray Industries says it has signed an offtake agreement with Gevo (Englewood, CO) for renewable bio-para-xylene (bioPX) produced at Gevo’s planned pilot plant. The agreement will enable Toray to carry out pilot-scale production of fully renewable, bio-based polyethylene terephthalate (bioPET). Gevo has succeeded in the synthesis of bioPX at the laboratory level utilizing conventional chemical processes, Toray says.
