Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Toray Restarts Operations at Some Plants Following Earthquake7:08 AM MDT | March 22, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Toray Industries says that its production facilities at Chiba and Tsuchiura in Japan did not suffer any significant damage as a result of the powerful earthquake and tsunami that struck northeastern Japan on March 11. The Chiba plant resumed operations on March 15 following safety confirmations and is currently operating at a minimal level, Toray says. The repair of the infrastructure at the Tsuchiura plant has been delayed, but the company says it is working on resuming production soon.
