Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Toray Reports Rise in Profits and Sales10:45 PM MST | February 6, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Toray Industries reported a 23% increase in net profits for the fiscal first nine months ended December 31, 2011, compared with the year-ago period, to ¥53.9 billion ($703 million). Sales increased 6.5%, to ¥1.19 trillion. Toray’s plastics and chemicals business posted a 7% increase in nine-month sales, to ¥300 billion and operating profits for the business increased 12.8% to ¥22.3 billion.
