Tokuyama swings to loss

Tokuyama (Tokyo) has reported a net loss of ¥37.9 billion ($388 million) for the fiscal year ended 31 March, compared with a net profit of ¥9.3 billion in the previous fiscal year. Sales decreased by about 8.4%, to ¥258.6 billion, because of decreased sales volumes and a fall in the selling price of polysilicon and lower sales volumes for vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), Tokuyama says.
