Teijin to Build Pilot Plant for Carbon Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Components

Teijin says it will build the world's first pilot plant for fully integrated production of carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) components from carbon fiber at the company’s site at Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. Construction of the plant will begin soon and it is expected to come online in mid 2012. The plant will involve an investment of over ¥2 billion ($26 million), and will feature Teijin’s mass production technology for CFRTP components.
