Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Teijin starts up pilot plant in Japan for carbon fiber components7:47 AM MST | December 4, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas Teijin says that it has begun operating a pilot plant for the fully integrated production of carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) components from carbon fiber. The pilot plant is located on the site of the company's factory at Matsuyama, Japan. The plant uses Teijin's proprietary mass-production technology for CFRTP components, which significantly reduces cycle times required for molding composite products, to under one minute, the company says.
