Sumitomo expands Li-ion battery separator production capacity in Japan

Sumitomo Chemical says that it will expand production capacity for lithium-ion (Li-ion) secondary battery separators at its Ohe production complex at Niihama, Japan. Sumitomo’s Li-ion secondary battery separators are marketed under the Perviotm brand name. The expansion will be carried out in phases, and total capacity will increase to about 2.3 times current capacity by the spring of 2015, Sumitomo says.
