Sumitomo Merges Indian Subsidiaries

Sumitomo Chemical says its three Indian subsidiaries - Sumitomo Chemical India (Mumbai), SC Enviro Agro India (SCEAI; Tarapur), and New Chemi Industries (NCI; Mumbai) have been merged to establish a new company. Sumitomo Chemical India is the surviving company and has recently begun operation with its headquarters at Mumbai. The reorganization will enable Sumitomo to strengthen its business foundation in India and accelerate mobilizing its available business resources more efficiently, the company says.
