Sumitomo Chemical forms jv with Sumitomo Corp., Renaissance Energy Research for CO2 separation business

Sumitomo Chemical says it has entered into an agreement with Sumitomo Corp. (Tokyo) and Renaissance Energy Research Corp. (Kyoto, Japan) for the formation of a joint venture to enter the carbon dioxide (CO2) separation business using CO2 permselective membrane technology in a membrane separation process. Sumitomo Chemical and Sumitomo Corp. will each hold 47.5% stake in the new jv company, and Renaissance Energy will hold the remaining 5%.
