Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Sumco Plant Continues Low Level of Production7:07 AM MDT | April 27, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Sumco (Tokyo), a manufacturer of silicon wafers for semiconductors, says that its plant at Yonezawa, Yamagata prefecture, which had partially restarted production earlier this month, continues to operate at a low level of production. Operations at the plant were suspended following the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on March 11. Production at the plant was restarted using equipment that was deemed to be safe.
