Some Mitsui Plants at Iwakuni-Ohtake Site to Restart in July

Mitsui Chemicals says that some of the plants at the company’s Iwakuni-Ohtake production complex at Waki, Japan, that were temporarily shut following the explosion and fire at the site last April, are tentatively expected to restart in late July. A fire broke out following an explosion on April 22 at a resorcinol plant at the Iwakuni-Ohtake production complex. The blast killed one Mitsui employee and injured 25 people, including 14 local residents. Operations at all plants within Mitsui’s Iwakuni-Ohtake production complex were suspended on April 23...
