Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Showa Denko Reports Losses and a Slight Decrease in Sales10:11 AM MST | February 9, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas Showa Denko recorded net losses of ¥500 million ($6.5 million) in the fourth quarter of 2011, compared with ¥3.3 billion in net profits in the corresponding period of the previous year. Sales and operating income also went down by 0.3% and 2.7% in the fourth quarter of 2011, to ¥212.5 billion and ¥8.5 billion, respectively, Showa Denko says. There were signs of recovery in production, and exports of the Japanese economy in the first and second half of 2011 despite the power supply restrictions caused by the earthquake in eastern Japan...
