Several Mitsui Plants at Iwakuni-Ohtake Restart Operations

Mitsui Chemicals says that several plants at the company’s Iwakuni-Ohtake production complex at Waki, Japan, that were shuttered temporarily following an explosion and fire at the site last April have restarted operations. The explosion occurred on April 22 at a resorcinol plant at the Iwakuni-Ohtake complex. The blast killed one Mitsui employee and injured 25 people, including 14 local residents.
