Private Equity Firm Acquires Japanese Agchem Producer

Private equity company Industrial Equity Investments Ltd. (IEIL; Ireland) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Arysta Lifescience Corp. (Tokyo), the 10th-biggest agchem producer, for about $2.2 billion. IEIL will acquire Arysta from Olympus Capital Holdings Asia (Tokyo), another private equity investor. The transaction is awaiting regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2008.
