Polypore and Sumitomo Chemical sign settlement and license agreement

Polypore International (Charlotte, NC) and Sumitomo Chemical have entered into a settlement and license agreement that ends all outstanding worldwide litigation between the two companies related to Polypore's intellectual property rights on battery separator coating, Polypore says. Polypore is a filtration company specializing in microporous membranes. Sumitomo, under the license agreement, has licensed Polypore's intellectual property related to coating separators for lithium-ion batteries.
