Nippon Shokubai reports higher sales and earnings, gives forecast

Nippon Shokubai, a leading producer of acrylic acid and superabsorbent polymers, today announced the results covering the first quarter of the fiscal year, ending 31 March 2015. Net income rose 45.9%, to ¥4.44 billion ($43.3 million), on 49.1% higher sales of ¥91.2 billion. The company has also announced its financial forecast for the first half and full fiscal year, with net income in the first half expected to rise 113.5%, to ¥7 billion, on sales 34.8% up, to ¥177 billion. In fiscal 2015, net income is expected to rise 90.4%, to ¥20 billion...
