Nippon Shokubai executives take pay cut following plant explosion

Senior executives at Nippon Shokubai will take temporary pay cuts in recognition of the deadly explosion and fire at the company's Himeji, Japan complex on 29 September 2012. The blast killed one firefighter, and seriously injured two other firefighters and three Nippon Shokubai workers, the company says. Nippon Shokubai president Masanori Ikeda will forego 30% of his salary, and senior managing executive officers Yasuhito Nishii and Yosuke Ogata will sacrifice 20% of their salaries.
