Mitsui Swings to Profit

Mitsui Chemicals reported net profits of about ¥24.9 billion ($308 million) for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011, compared with a net loss of ¥28 billion in the previous fiscal year. Sales increased 15%, to ¥1.39 trillion. Revenues at Mitsui’s petrochemicals segment increased 19%, to ¥434 billion, and the segment’s operating profit of ¥12.8 billion compared with an operating loss of ¥3.4 billion in the previous fiscal year.
