Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Mitsui Chemicals restarts hydroquinone plant in Iwakuni-Ohtake site7:16 AM MST | January 21, 2013 | Deepti Ramesh Mitsui Chemicals says that production has resumed at the hydroquinone plant in the company’s Iwakuni-Ohtake production complex at Waki, Japan. Hydroquinone production stopped at the Iwakuni-Ohtake complex following an explosion at a resorcinol plant at the site in April 2012. The blast killed 1 Mitsui employee and injured 25 people, including 14 local residents. Operations at all plants within the Iwakuni-Ohtake production complex were suspended following the blast, but each one has restarted except those producing resorcinol and cymene. Mitsui announced...
