Mitsui Chemicals’ loss widens

Mitsui Chemicals reports a net loss of ¥18.5 billion ($182 million) for the company's fiscal first nine months ended 31 December 2013, compared with a net loss of ¥9.7 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year. This was mainly due to restructuring expenses of ¥20.6 billion, for the planned plant closures in the polyurethane and phenol businesses, which were announced by the company today.
