Mitsubishi Rayon Begins Production of Carbon Fiber at Otake

Mitsubishi Rayon says it has begun commercial production at its previously announced new 2,700-m.t./year carbon fiber plant at Otake, Japan, starting June 2011. Mitsubishi Rayon resumed construction of the carbon fiber plant in June 2010, after construction was temporarily stopped in March 2009 due to the “severe business environment and the downturn in the carbon fiber market,” the company says.
