Mitsubishi Chemical to Build Plant for Formulated Electrolyte for Lithium-Ion Batteries in China

Mitsubishi Chemical will invest about ¥2.5 billion ($33 million) to establish an operation in China to manufacture and sell formulated electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries. The plant will be located at Changshu, Jiangsu Province, China, and it will produce 10,000 m.t./year of formulated electrolyte, and it is expected to begin production by the end of 2012.
