Mitsubishi Chemical and Japanese firm Pioneer start mass production of OLED lighting module

Mitsubishi Chemical and Pioneer (Kawasaki, Japan) say that they have begun mass production and shipment of the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) lighting module with a wet coating process for a light-emitting layer. Mass production and shipment began earlier this month. The two companies, in 2012, announced the development of OLED elements using a wet coating process for the light-emitting layers, set up a testing facility at Yonezawa, Japan, to establish mass production technology, and aimed to begin full-scale production of OLED lighting by 2014.
