Merck KGaA Restarts Plant in Japan

Merck KGaA says it has restarted operations at the company’s production site at Onahama, Japan on May 8. The Onahama site mainly manufactures Xirallic effect pigments, which are widely used in automotive coatings. The damage to the production units and infrastructure caused by the earthquake in northeastern Japan on March 11 resulted in the stoppage of pigment production at Onahama.
