MEMC Partially Restarts Plant in Japan

MEMC Electronic Materials (St. Peters, MO) says it has partially restarted production of 300mm wafers at its facility at Utsunomiya, Japan. Full 300mm production is targeted to be achieved by mid-May, MEMC says. Operations at the Utsunomiya plant, which is one of MEMC’s eight facilities that manufacture wafers for semiconductors, were suspended following the earthquake.
