Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Kuraray Records Huge Rise in Profits10:22 PM MST | February 1, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Kuraray reported an 84.5% rise in net profits for the nine months ended December 31, 2010, to ¥22.4 billion ($275 million), compared with the year-ago period. Sales increased 11.4%, to ¥270.4 billion. The nine-month period saw a gradual recovery in demand for the company’s products in Europe and the U.S., as well as strong demand in emerging economies, mainly China, Kuraray says. Sales of liquid crystal display-related products grew, and demand in Kuraray’s core businesses, including polyvinyl alcohol resins, ethylene vinyl alcohol resins...
