Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Kuraray Records Fall in Profits and Sales6:54 AM MST | February 5, 2010 | Deepti Ramesh Kuraray reported a 25% decrease in net profits, for the nine months ended December 31, 2009, to ¥12 billion ($133 million), compared with the year-ago period. Sales decreased by 20%, to ¥243 billion. While demand for Kuraray products is recovering as a whole, the degree of recovery varies depending on the business, the company says. Kuraray’s chemical and resin business posted a 19% fall in sales, to ¥148 billion, and operating income was down 14%, to ¥29 billion.
