Kao completes expansion of fatty alcohols production capacity in Philippines

Kao (Tokyo) says its wholly owned Pilipinas Kao Inc. (PKI; Jasaan, Philippines) subsidiary has completed the previously announced 1.4-times expansion of production capacity for fatty alcohols at Jasaan. The expansion aims to meet growing demand for fatty alcohols in the Asian region, Kao says. Fatty alcohols have a wide range of applications, including as key materials for surfactants formulated in shampoo and detergent for consumer use as well as materials for industrial-use cleaners and plastic-processing agents.
