Kaneka to build acrylic fibers facility in Malaysia

Kaneka (Osaka, Japan) says that it will build a new manufacturing facility for the company’s Kanekalon/Kanecaron acrylic fibers at the site of its Kaneka Malaysia (Kuantan) subsidiary. The new facility at Kuantan will have a production capacity of 12,000 m.t./year of acrylic fibers and will involve an investment of about ¥9 billion ($88 million), Kaneka says. The facility is expected to become operational in October 2015, and will meet increasing global demand. Kaneka has been manufacturing Kanekalon/Kanecaron at its Takasago, Japan plant since 1957...
