Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Kaneka reports rise in profits8:30 AM MST | November 19, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Kaneka (Osaka) has recorded a 24.3% rise in net profits for its fiscal first half, ended 30 September 2012, compared with the year-ago period, to ¥3.5 billion ($43.6 million). First-half sales decreased 0.5%, to ¥233.7 billion. Kaneka's chemicals business segment recorded a 2.2% rise in first-half sales compared with the same period last year, to ¥46.9 billion, and the segment reported a 70.1% increase in operating profits, to ¥2.16 billion.
