Idemitsu Kosan to Acquire Japanese Agchem Firm

Idemitsu Kosan says it will acquire agchem company SDS Biotech (Tokyo) through a tender offer. Idemitsu Kosan has started acquiring common shares and new share subscription rights of SDS Biotech through the tender offer, which began on May 11 and will close on June 8. SDS Biotech is a manufacturer and distributor of agchems and possesses promising agents for chemical pesticides, and also has some agents that can contribute to environment-friendly agriculture, such as biological pesticides, Idemitsu says.
