Evonik, Taiyo Nippon Sanso terminate monosilane project in Japan

Evonik and Taiyo Nippon Sanso (TNSC; Tokyo) say that they have terminated their joint monosilanes manufacturing project at Yokkaichi, Japan, effective 30 September 2012, and have already begun closing the plant. Evonik supplied monosilanes to TNSC, under a long-term supply contract. Due to the difficult market situation, TNSC has terminated the supply contract with Evonik, "making the continuation of operations at the Yokkaichi plant for Evonik no longer reasonable," Evonik says.
