EU, Japan negotiating free trade agreement

The European Union and Japan are continuing their efforts to reach a free trade agreement (FTA), says the European Commission. The aim is for a comprehensive FTA in goods, services, and investment, eliminating tariffs and nontariff barriers, and covering other trade-related topics, such as regulatory issues, procurement, sustainability, and competition, the commission says.
