Dow and Ube Receive Approval for Electrolytes JV

Dow Chemical and Ube Industries say they have secured all necessary regulatory approvals for their previously announced 50-50 joint venture that will manufacture formulated electrolytes for lithium-ion battery cell manufacturers in the energy storage market. The companies had first announced plans for the jv in July 2011. The new jv company has been named Advanced Electrolyte Technologies (AET; Midland, MI) and it will construct a manufacturing facility with a production capacity of 5,000 m.t./year of electrolytes at Dow’s production site at Midland...
