DIC reports rise in profits

DIC (Tokyo) recorded a 13.5% rise in net profits for its fiscal first 9 months, ended 31 December 2012, compared with the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, to ¥18.0 billion ($192 million). Nine-month sales decreased 5.5%, however, to ¥530.5 billion, mainly because of falling sales in Japan and the appreciation of the Japanese currency, particularly against the euro, DIC says.
