DIC reports huge rise in profits

DIC (Tokyo) has reported its financial results for its fiscal first quarter, ended 31 March. DIC decided last June to change its fiscal year-end from 31 March to 31 December, and, as a result, figures for the first quarter of the last fiscal year have been adjusted to represent the same accounting period as the first quarter of 2014, DIC says. DIC reports net profits of ¥5.14 billion ($50.5 million) in the first quarter of 2014 compared with net profits of ¥2.4 billion in the quarter ended 31 March 2013.
